# How many years of work does it take to create one perfect afternoon?

CityMatiné started **15 years ago** with a mission: to introduce and popularise **daytime party culture in Budapest.**

What began as a small, friendly initiative has grown into one of the most defining brands of Budapest's electronic music scene. Their mission has been clear from the start: to prove that daytime partying is not a side story but a culture in its own right, vibrant and alive, where a picnic atmosphere meets premium electronic music.

For the 15th birthday, the organisers dreamed big: they brought in the iconic **Keinemusik collective's cornerstone member, &ME.** This event was not just a celebration but also a huge professional milestone.

On CityMatiné's side, the inimitable *daytime vibe* and respect for afro house sounds were a given; on the other side stood a production in which music, visuals and experience form a perfect whole.

THE STORY OF THE COLLABORATION

**This is how an inspiring collaboration came to life:** we show the path through which the unique character of this year's Citymatiné finally took shape!

 ORGANISATIONAL CHALLENGES

# What makes an event professional when it looks completely effortless from the outside?

Behind a party that looks relaxed from the outside lies an incredible amount of work. The &ME booking was the fruit of a **three-year process** in which *brand fit* (the chemistry between the brand and the artist) mattered more than anything in the decision. But the real work only began with the organisation:

✔️  **Visual step-up:** The usual “natural and simple” décor was replaced by a strict, pop-art-style artistic concept. 

✔️  Constant **control:** We had to work with the artist's art directors on a daily basis, and every single light, stage look and tiny decorative element had to be approved.

✔️  **Technical precision:** International requirements had to be delivered flawlessly, while constantly juggling domestic regulatory requirements and safety rules.

The biggest challenge remained, however: how do you run a giga-production so that it doesn't become a “foreign body” but still delivers the familiar, free CityMatiné experience?

# How can you give your production wings with a reliable backbone?

For an event of this scale, with international appeal, ticketing is not just a platform but the cornerstone of the event. CityMatiné needed a strategic partner that could reliably handle the load while supporting the organisation with useful data.

 EFFECTIVE COLLABORATION

# How does work stay **smooth when multiple countries, multiple teams and multiple expectations meet?**

 One of the most interesting lessons of the project was that, for an event of this scale, good collaboration is at least as important as the booking itself. It was clear from the very start that this was **not routine work:** the Keinemusik team looked not only at the date and the terms, but also at **how authentic this meeting would be** in terms of brand, audience and atmosphere.

Almost half of the guests at the &ME event **came from other countries,** which required an entirely new marketing strategy. This is where Cooltix's data-driven approach became key. 

✔️  **Real-time data:**  Organisers could see exactly how many tickets were bought from each country.

✔️  **Campaign optimisation:** Based on this data, they fine-tuned the ads, targeting the regions with the greatest interest.

✔️  **Price structure planning:** The statistics helped set optimal ticket prices adapted to the international market.

The result of the joint work was a smoothly run, near-sold-out production that opened new doors for Citymatiné. The event proved that the team is capable of delivering world-class showcases as well.
